Summer Has Arrived at Hidden Oasis

Memorial Day & Summer Opening

Memorial Day weekend is here, and with it, the official start of summer at Hidden Oasis at White Oak Landing. The waterfront sites are in full green, the cove is calm, and the fire pits are ready. After a beautiful spring on the Tennessee River, we couldn't be more excited to welcome guests into what we think is going to be a wonderful summer season.

This time of year has always felt special to us. There's something about that first warm weekend — rigs pulling in, chairs going out, fire smoke drifting across the cove — that reminds us exactly why we built this place. If you've been thinking about making a trip out to Clifton, Memorial Day weekend through the Fourth of July is honestly as good as it gets.

A quick note on availability as we head into summer: our wooded sites have found their people — all four are occupied with long-term and seasonal guests, which feels like a real milestone for us. Those sites tend to be a great fit for folks looking for a longer-term home base in the trees, and we're glad they're settled.

On the waterfront side, most guests who come for weekends or seasonal stays prefer being right on the cove — and honestly, we understand completely. We currently have one waterfront site open for weekend stays or a seasonal arrangement, with the possibility of a second opening up as well. If a site on the cove sounds like your kind of summer, reach out sooner rather than later — we'd love to talk. Call or text us at 860-202-0116 or visit the site below.

We hope your Memorial Day weekend is filled with good food, great company, and a little time outdoors. And if your travels bring you to Perry County, TN — we'd love to have you. ❤️🤍💙

Behind the Scenes

Our May Visit - From the Foggy Morning to the Fire

We were out at Hidden Oasis earlier this month — May 4 through May 10 — and it was one of those visits that reminded us, again, why we do this.

We pulled in with the Miramar on a clear afternoon, white Jeep in tow, and that first look at the property never gets old. The sites were lush, the cove was glassy, and the whole place had that quiet energy it gets in early May — before the full summer crowds arrive, when everything still feels a little fresh and unhurried.

Tony set up his office in the cab — laptop out, coffee going, perfectly content to let the world think he was working — while Josee took the recumbent trike out to explore the neighborhood roads. White Oak Landing has the most beautiful quiet roads in the early morning — green fields, rolling hills, not a care in the world. It never gets old, and honestly, neither does watching Tony pretend he's going to retire someday. 😄

One morning we stepped outside just after sunrise and just stopped. Mist was rising off the cove, the fire pit was still cold, and the light through the trees was the kind of thing you can't plan for. Coffee in hand, not a sound anywhere. That's the moment we built this place for — and we're glad our guests get to have it too.

The evenings were something else. Mid-week we had a potluck with some fellow guests and neighbors from the community — good food, a long table, the kind of easy conversation that goes later than anyone planned. The fire was going both nights, and on the second evening nobody really organized anything. The fire was already lit, and people just... drifted over. Chairs came out. Stories came out. That's the part of campground life that's hard to put in a brochure, but it's real, and it happens here.

And then there were the eagles. Mid-afternoon on May 9th, we spotted two bald eagles perched in a tree right over the cove — just sitting there, completely unbothered, while we tried very hard not to make any noise. Two bald eagles. At our campground. On the Tennessee River. We've always known this stretch of river is special, but that moment made it feel official.

We ended the visit with one of those sunrises that makes you stop mid-sentence. The whole cove went pink — not just the sky, but the water too, perfectly reflected. We stood there with coffee going cold in our hands and didn't care one bit.

We'll be back. We always are. ❤️🤍💙

Two Great Reasons to Plan Around June 6th

If you're planning a stay around early June, here are two events worth knowing about — both happening the same weekend, at very different distances and with very different vibes.

As always, we'd recommend confirming event details directly with the organizers before heading out, as schedules can change. Links below.

Closing Note

We hope May has been a good one for you, and that June brings some time outdoors. If your summer travels bring you through Perry County, TN, we'd love to have you at Hidden Oasis. The cove is ready. The fire pit is ready. And if the sunrise happens to go pink while you're here — well, you'll understand why we keep coming back.
